Happy New Year – A Time to be Grateful

by Joan Kelly on January 1, 2012

On this first day of 2012, I am so very thankful for the blessings in my life, having an abundance of family and friends with an immense capacity to give and receive love; the gift to live another year, when so many loved ones aren’t here with me; the ability to do and be what I choose and the intellect, drive and curiosity to explore each opportunity; and above all, the desire to give back to others in ways that may alter their health, joy and destiny. Thanks for joining me on this ride of life. Joan.

Louie Schwartzberg’s incredible talent inspired me this morning – how about you?

Do you ROAR your health?

by Joan Kelly December 27, 2010

Information is power in health. Unfortunately we don’t always have the information, or know what is needed. When I got sick I relied on the system we used to care for family members for many years. I tweaked it a bit and call it ROAR. It’s meant to help manage your doctor, your insurer and [...]

Exercise on the Way to Versace

by Joan Kelly March 28, 2010

Keeping to an exercise routine while traveling can be challenging, particularly when the hotel gyms are unappealing because of fabulous weather outside or their actual lack of equipment. Packing for the trip out to CA, I clearly had delusions, though best of intentions. I brought along the “skinny” pants thinking I’d be a mad demon [...]

Default to Greatness

by Joan Kelly March 21, 2010

It amazes me how often our lack of confidence causes our defaults to be set to deficiency rather than greatness. At a conference a few weeks back a rather impressive woman was hesitant to speak in front of the group, providing excuses on why she might not be the best person to communicate what her [...]

Life is the longest things we’ll ever do.

by Joan Kelly January 5, 2010

Many people will tell you that life is short, particularly when it’s around some kind of tragic event. The reality is that life is the longest things we’ll ever do. Longer than most of your relationships – your parents, possibly siblings, not usually your children – but you get the picture. Those experiences that people [...]

Yum! Gluten Free Pizza That Doesn’t Taste Like Cardboard

by Joan Kelly November 28, 2009

In my furious procrastination to writing today I made gluten free pizza from scratch using Bob’s Red Mill Pizza Crust Mix. Positively delicious! This is the first holiday eating gluten free and thanks to gluten free pumpkin pie from Whole Foods and steering clear of stuffing, it was ok. I won’t trade getting sick and [...]

Oh How We Lust for Getting It Now, in Health

by Joan Kelly November 5, 2009

According to trendwatching.com, we are currently in the state of Nowism. It’s called “the ingrained lust for instant gratification.” It’s an extreme focus on the current state and increased demand to get everything we want immediately. Hhmm sounds like a 3 year old. They show a variety of examples of this playing out. Let’s look how it’s [...]
